Party on

Of je nu kiest voor een avondje thuis met vrienden, gourmetten met je schoonouders of het nachtelijke leven induikt met je partycrew, de gelegenheid blijft hetzelfde. Van oud op nieuw is het onmogelijk om overdressed genoemd te worden want glitters leveren voor een keer geen afkeurende blikken op, de hakken mogen op zijn hoogst en de juwelen op zijn bling blingst. 

Als ik kon was ik op nieuwjaar de über gastvrouw, die een menu aan een twintigkoppige bende serveert en toch ook in feesttenue gehuld is. Maar dat zal voor eind 2013 zijn, wanneer ik wellicht voor het eerst mijn eigen kerstboom versier. Good times ahead! 

Mijn partylook hangt hier - uiteraard - al klaar in de kast, maar ik kan me inbeelden dat velen van jullie nog last minute naar de winkels moeten hollen. Bij deze enkele feestsuggesties on budget. Feeëriek wit, hippe playsuit, de kort/lange jurk of het klassieke nieuwjaarskleedje. Twee keer H&M, twee keer Warehouse. Warehouse is een online shop: passen gaat dus niet, maar het is wel echt een topper. Voor wie de drukke winkelstraten wil vermijden - of gewoon geen tijd heeft om zich aan een shopping namiddag te bezondigen - het ideale alternatief.

Whether you choose for a cosy night at home with your friends, having diner with your parents in law or going loose with your partycrew, it's all the same occasion. On New Years Eve it is impossible to be overdressed since it's the only night glitters don't conclude in disapproving faces, the heels may be at their highest and the jewelry at their most bling bling.   

If I could, I probably be the over the top hostess, serving a menu to twenty people and still be wearing my partygown. But I guess I'll have to wait for that until 2013, when I - hopefully - decorate my first and own Christmas tree. Good times ahead!

A great alternative for those of you who are not up for the busy shoppingstreets, or just don't have the time for it.
